Ha’atzama
our empowerment programs

The teenage years have always been a challenging time during a person’s development, and it is doubly so in today’s complex world. At Hakshiva we have developed programs which address many of the deep issues facing teenagers today.

The “Ha’atzama” or empowerment program, focuses on building self-confidence, motivation, life skills, and overall personal growth. It provides an opportunity for girls from 7th-12th grades to connect to an adult who creates a forum to openly discuss ideas and thoughts. In addition, sharing these with peers in the group in an emotionally safe, relaxed environment enables listening and learning from each other. The girls improve their self-esteem, gain perspective and understanding of themselves and their world, explore goals and purpose in life, learn how to set personal boundaries, how to take responsibility for their development, and how to identify healthy choices in life.  The groups are run in partnership with schools, groups of ten girls meet once a week for an hour.

The feedback we receive for these programs are overwhelmingly positive, both from teachers and students, and this feedback, like that for our other programs, ensures that Hakshiva continues to remain responsive to our community’s needs.
